We sat down with the Founder and CEO, Paul Ehlinger, to learn more about what inspired him to launch Flamel.ai, the journey of building a mission-driven company, and his vision for the future of marketing technology.

How did you become interested in Marketing Technology?

PE: Honestly, I feel like I always sucked at marketing. So, I generally like to solve for things that will help me learn, that meet real world application. When my wife launched her own small business, L.E. Psych, seeing the struggles she faced made me realize that, even with all the existing tools, there was still a generational opportunity to re-imagine how local content marketing happens.

What inspired you to become a founder of a company?

PE: I love everything about the journey of being a founder. It all starts with just wanting to solve a problem. From there, you get to build a team and community to do everything you can to solve it. Along the way, you're challenged and forced to grow in ways that I don't think you can do otherwise.

...seeing the struggles she faced made me realize that, even with all the existing tools, there was still a generational opportunity to re-imagine how local content marketing happens.

Tell us about your team: Who’s on it, and how did you meet?

PE: We're currently a small and mighty team of six. Matt Sichterman is our lead developer, Bridget Johnston is our head of marketing, Ava Hermann leads UI/UX design, Zach Martin is in business development, and Alex Hayden is our fantastic marketing intern from NKU. We met in a variety of ways - through past lives, over a beer, on LinkedIn, etc.

Where do you see Marketing Technology headed in the future?

PE: The future of marketing technology is AI. However, I don't think that necessarily means all the content you see will be AI-generated. I'm confident that as more AI-generated content is created, consumers will actively seek verifiably 'real' content. So, AI will become much more of a process-enabling tool - making content creation, curation, and management far easier.

What does success look like to Flamel.ai in the short term and long term?

PE: Our success, short-term and long-term, is always tied to our customer's success. If they build better marketing content and grow, then we will succeed. What that outcome looks like over time for Flamel? I'm not sure. But I do know that with this team and product, the sky is the limit for the amount of value we can create for our customers, our investors, and ourselves.
